Never Ever Mess With Your Layout
. . . unless you really know what you are doing. I was inspired by a custom layout on a friend's blog, and I thought, you know . . . I could surely figure out how to do that. Ha. I went to webfetti and instantly had a new background/layout. I was just playing around and didn't really want to keep the background. But, I could NOT get it to go away. I did all kinds of things to my blog before I figured out how to fix the background. When I finally got the background to go away, I had succeeded in removing all of my pictures, sidebars, etc. The most confusing thing was that I didn't have a page elements tab to be able to try to put it back on. I even enlisted John's help in trying to figure out what I had done. I have spent the last hour trying to figure it out - -- finally, I have things back to a relatively normal state. I was tempted to call my friend, Reba, to tell her my frustrations - - knowing that she would understand. Leah, I need REALLY detailed instructions. Otherwise, my blog will have to not be cutesy.

You know I understand. I am waiting for Leah to share some wisdom. I would love to do personalize my site a little but haven't been successful yet. What is the trick???
Reba
I think there's a way to back-up your blog so that you can restore it if your new set-up doesn't work out. I think you just copy all the HTML code and save it in a word document. Haven't tried it, though.
You need to post a picture of your new haircut.
here by way of Leah....I design custom blogs, if you're interested let me know! You can see my work here:

Okay...I promise...I don't really know what I'm doing either. I actually did that header in a photo-editing thing on our desk top. (Not photoshop...it's something that came with our computer.) Anyway, I am sure there is a lot easier way to do it, but I scanned in a piece of paper from our computer (I think you can just download one from the internet, but anytime I do that, it's always too blurry.) and then created my header on top of that.
As far as the background and colors go...I just go to dashboard, settings, then layouts. When you get to layouts, there is a tab that says fonts and colors and I just play around with that.
I know there is a way you can make wallpaper on your blog, but I seriously don't know how to do it. I've tried everything. Evan doesn't like our blog "all cutesy" but until he starts posting more, I'm leaving it! :)
I'm with your sister, too. I think there is a way you can back-up your blog, but I don't know how to do it. Most things I see are to save it in a word document.
Okay, I hear Kendall waking up. I've got to run!! Let me know if you have any questions.
PS. I'd do a header for you, if you would send me a picture or tell me what colors you want. Do you have my email?
